The art of life
José Cabaleiro do Lago and his family lived from their oak wood business in Galicia, until 1830, when José decided to move to Chipiona to found a company to supply wood for the sherry industry and for the vineyards with its own distillery. Over the years he decided to focus his business on wine ageing, brandy and punch. With this decision, without knowing it, Mr. José left us a legacy that lasts until today, the Ponche Caballero.
But what is punch?
At the end of the 70s, Las Mellizas performed the musical theme “Caballero, Caballero, Caballero, Ponche Caballero”. A few years later, Azúcar Moreno, along with Raimundo Amador, Rafa Abitol from the group La Unión, took it on, as did Paulina Rubio and Chenoa.
Now, Sonia Priego, known as "La Húngara,” one of the most successful and versatile artists in the Spanish flamenco scene, has reinterpreted this famous jingle with character, strength, pride, and a touch of Andalusian flair. For all these reasons, we wanted her to be the Ambassador of a way of life, our way of life. Ambassador of “knowing how to live is Ponche Caballero,” a phrase full of zest for life and overflowing with enthusiasm.
